This sunflower reminds me of the beauty that is in one's journey of personal growth as we learn to shine, own our gifts, and get more confident every day no matter what it "looks" like.
Just like a newly blooming sunflower, when life gets hard ( which it always will) we also want to go inward, scream, get out of the dark and muck.. avoid discomfort at all cost ... and all of this happens simultaneously. When the walls begin to feel like they are crumbling down- Stick to it. Instead of avoiding, numbing ( I would so often stuff my face with food mindlessly) and running away, follow your heart, feel what you need to feel, be brave enough to look the fear and discomfort in the face. It is all a part of YOU, your journey and your greatness.
You would not be who you are today without those dark times (ALL of them). Growth doesn’t happen in the fluff, in the comfort zone or when you are comfortable in life. When life gets tough or when you feel overwhelmed, trick your brain into being with and eventually even embracing the discomfort ( it's a practice... not a one and done kind of thing) instead of avoiding it. What if you changed your perspective and chose to see fear and anxiety as a sign, a message telling you to pay attention ( I know, it scared me too but just be open to it). That you are onto something BIG, something NEW and instead of avoiding it you at least gave yourself permission to be curious and explore what is on the other side of it.

People will be drawn to your beauty, your light, and your "YOU"- but you need to completely embrace ALL of YOU. Embracing our darkness & our wounds just as much as our light, our gifts and our talents - That is what brings us together. That is what connects us to one another.
