Keep. It. Simple.

So many of you have been asking how to "keep up with it all" and sharing that you find it difficult to eat healthy when the weeks get busy.

I wanted to share what works for me. I find it so much easier to stick to something when it's simple and convenient. When it comes to Health and Well-being I am going to encourage you to shift your mindset to consistency rather then intensity! Think longterm rather then short term and take small, easy steps daily that will compound instead of the typical "yoyo" that happens for so many at this time of year and going into the Holiday Season.

This was sooooo scary for me at first as I was so used to going so intense that "taking my foot of the gas pedal" presented so many uncertainties and fears. I had "punished" my body for so many years ( over eating and under eating) to make it look a certain way, I didn't know what would happened if I stopped.

Sometimes your fuel in life is being so clear that you are not going back ( to what you've done or how you've been) that moving forward with uncertainty, although scary, doesn't stop you from making the changes you know you need to make in order to get where you want.

1. Shift your MOTIVATION. From the way you look ( waist size, jean size, 6 pack abs... you know what the fitness industry has told us for many years) to the way you feel... you know, the way you want to show up in the world!! Do you want more energy, joy, happiness, stamina, enthusiasm??? Write it down and say it out loud if you need to. Mindset and shifting my motivation has been huge for me guys when it comes to choosing what's on the end of my fork and staying consistent! Choose foods that nourish and bless your body.

2. Make sure Healthy food is available.. and convenient!!. Not sure where to start?? Download my Favourite Recipes book here and add these meals to your weekly menu.

3. When sitting down to eat I always want to make sure each meal has healthy fats, proteins and greens. I will often add a handful of organic greens , avocado or olive oil to my plate along with the meals I've prepared. On active days ( which is basically every day for me :) I also make sure to have a clean burning carb like sweet potato, yam or squash. I aim for at least one salad a day ( these were some from this past week) to ensure I am eating raw vegetables daily.

I don't count calories. I don't follow a point system. I don't even weigh myself anymore. I aim to eat foods that make my body thrive, bless my body and make it feel great. I stay consistent 90% ( that's right, not 100%!!! ) of the time and make choices that will get me closer to who I need to be. This required me to start loving myself again and see that I was worthy.

No crash diets. No starving and binging. No beating yourself up for shovelling food in your mouth mindlessly because you were hangry ( ie low blood sugar- your brain can't function and concentrate- you definitely can't be at your best then) because there was nothing healthy to eat.

Keep it simple. Make healthy food convenient. Ask yourself "Is this going to nourish and bless my body?" before you eat. Where's the Fats? Where's the protein? Where's the greens??

Where are your biggest challenges in staying consistent during your busy weeks???
