Just because you care about something doesn't mean you need to stress about it.
When big opportunities come or when challenges and obstacles arise- is your tendency to stress, worry, lose sleep, clench your jaw, tense your neck and shoulder and be short and reactive to the world around you?
A few weeks ago I had a very full week, many gears, many directions, many things to do and I caught myself in a story- that in order to care, I must stress. It felt so awkward at first to look at the challenge right in the eye ( I seriously had to put my hand on my jaw for it to release lol) and stay factual as I came up with a solution. My heart rate slowed down, the tension in my neck and shoulders released and I softened my eyes.
The light bulb came on when I realized how my being stressed in order to care was creating a stress response inside my body too! This is so detrimental to our health and wellbeing. It's no wonder the rate of burnout, adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues, chronic fatigue and exhaustion are at an all time high.
We all have the opportunity to change our way of thinking and choose to grow or stay the same and tell ourselves stories why we are stuck. Take a moment, go inward and take inventory of your mind, is it cluttered with old stories that have no value for you now?
Rest your eyes, soften your gaze and release tension from your body when you are looking down the barrel of a challenge. By taking a break, you will be more resourceful and will avoid shooting yourself in the foot!
Choose again.
You are allowed to change your mind and do things differently!
You are so worth it. Your health, wellbeing and happiness are so worth it!
Unlearn the story that in order to care ( about something or someone) you must stress and worry and set yourself free from the burden of carrying it around with you every day.
You got this, just choose again.
